Topic:
Estonian Class Teachers´ Association and different trainings for members
Merits:

I have worked in education for 30 years as a class teacher and currently I am a tutor at Audentes Private School I and II. In today's school, I consider general education and inter-subject integration to be important, integrating ICT into syllabi, developing learning skills, and multi-level collaboration. The school must be the place where the student wants to come and be. A learner-centered approach is the most important part of the learning process. The student is an active side in the learning process and as a teacher I am a supporter and guide of learner development.

In a rapidly changing society, it is important to be able to develop and learn. The learning school needs learning teachers.

As a member of the board of the Estonian Class Teachers Association, we have set a goal with the Board to train class teachers through various training sessions to provide classroom teachers interested in lifelong learning in Estonian schools. We work with teachers of various subjects.

Contribution:

I would like to represent myself as well as The Estonian Association of Class Teachers at the forum. Being able to participate, I could introduce what the Union does in Estonia and develop relationships with similar unions or organisation from other countries. It would also help me connect with educational organisations outside Estonia or the European Union.

Expectations:

I would like to participate in the International Pedagogical Forum in USA-Washington D.C. I would like to help Estonian class teachers feel themselves secure and at ease. I wish to gain new pedagogical knowledge and experience, fresh ideas, skills and approaches from the forum. Being part of the union allows me to share the experience and knowledge gained with colleagues all over Estonia.
