Topic:
Evaluating teacher's professional effectiveness through Teacher Impact Factor (TIF)
Merits:

Javad Gholami is Associate Professor of TESOL, an experienced teacher, and teacher trainer at Urmia University, Urmia, Iran. He is also the Co-Editor of the Journal of Teacher Education for Sustainability in Latvia (https://www.degruyter.com/view/j/jtes). ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4970-1110

Contribution:

I hope to introduce the idea of Teacher Impact Factor (TIF) and how to realize it as a systematic grid to promote the professionality of teaching practices in the world. I think that education for sustainability is the key to the protection of our wildlife, optimal use of our limited natural resources, and eco-friendly lifestyle of the people. This cause cannot be achieved unless we develop proper and functional means to evaluate teachers' effectiveness more accountably and what ripple effects they could have on the learners they teach.

Expectations:

I hope to meet outstanding teachers from around the world, learn about their best practices, and share my own views on Teacher Impact Factor (TIF) and how to materialize this concept as a robust and viable teacher performance evaluation instrument similar to journal impact factor.
