CHALLENGES FACING CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT AND REVIEW IN TANZANIA
Merits:

Tanzania Teachers Union, General Secretary

Contribution:

Trade unions work together with the government to ensure good provision of services to the community, but at the same time trade unions advocate about justice to its members. In implementing educations programmers teachers trade unions should be taken as a key stakeholders, but unfortunately many countries tend to ignore the participation of trade unions. Teacher’s trade unions deal with teachers who are key implementers of education programs, and therefore involvement of teachers trade union seems to be inevitable though in practice is not like this. There is a need for governments to make sure that there is enough participation of stakeholders in curriculum development and review and also in establishment of other education programs. Education development will easily be realized if and only if there is collaboration between stakeholders. Tanzania teachers’ union believe that teachers are core stakeholder in education provision and therefore their participation in curriculum development and review is compulsory

Expectations:

1. To get new ideas on curriculum development and review programs
2. To exchange ideas with other countries on how to conduct ECE
3. To exchange ideas on how to manage classes with a big number of students
4. To make new friends and a network of education professionals
